Mr. Lewis represents a variety of entities in the health care industry, including hospitals, pharmacies, ambulatory surgery centers, long term care facilities, laboratories, behavioral health facilities, and physician-owned practices. He has experience in stock and asset purchases, along with other general business transactions, including numerous purchases, mergers, and sales of not-for-profit and investor-owned hospitals, ASCs, physician practices, and laboratories. Additionally, he has assisted in and managed the negotiation, due diligence, and closing of transactions.
Mr. Lewis also assists health care providers with a wide array of federal and state matters, including payment and reimbursement, fraud and abuse, corporate practice of medicine compliance, licensure, telemedicine, and medical staff issues. He provides guidance to providers on antitrust matters, including government antitrust investigations and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Lewis served as an attorney at the Federal Trade Commission, where he investigated and litigated antitrust matters in the health care and pharmaceutical industries, including FTC v. Surescripts, LLC.
