Kayla is an associate in the Firm's Atlanta office and a member of the Advocacy Department, where she assists clients throughout the litigation process. She focuses her practice on eminent domain and land use disputes, with experience representing property owners and businesses in matters involving governmental takings and zoning challenges. Kayla also handles a wide range of commercial property disputes, including commercial lease litigation and other conflicts arising from the ownership, use, and development of real estate.
During law school, Kayla served as a law clerk at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, drafting reports and recommendations for Federal Magistrate Judge Brian K. Epps. She also clerked for Judge Jason Ashford of Houston County State Court. Additionally, Kayla participated in a low income tax clinic, contributed to the Mercer Law Review, and completed two corporate counsel externships with a national home improvement retailer and a multinational hospitality organization.
