(Nashville, TN / February 19, 2014) Local attorney and community leader Samuel L. Felker has joined Baker Donelson as a shareholder and a member of the Firm's Product Liability and Mass Tort Group. Mr. Felker will be based in Baker Donelson's Nashville office, where his litigation practice will include product liability and mass tort, commercial litigation and food safety.

Mr. Felker is the latest in a surge of recent additions to Baker Donelson's Nashville office. In the last month, the Firm has announced the addition of 14 attorneys, bringing the total number of attorneys in the Nashville office to 99.

Over his 30-plus year career, Mr. Felker has distinguished himself as a trial lawyer in courts and venues throughout the United States. As part of his product liability practice, Mr. Felker represents a wide variety of manufacturers in diverse industries including pharmaceutical, medical device, construction and consumer goods. His practice also includes significant litigation involving food contamination, and he advises clients regarding FDA regulation, compliance and recalls. In the area of commercial litigation, Mr. Felker has represented clients in complex litigation involving insurance coverage, securities fraud, breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, defamation and intellectual property.

A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, for many years Mr. Felker has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the practice areas of products liability, mass tort litigation/class actions, personal injury and commercial litigation, and by Mid-South Super Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation "Local Litigation Stars" and Lawdragon 3000 Leading Lawyers of America. Mr. Felker has served in leadership positions in the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations, and he is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Felker is active in the community and serves on the Metro Nashville Board of Health, and he is the president of the Tennessee Stonewall Bar Association.
