(Birmingham, AL / November 20, 2013) Ross Cohen has joined Baker Donelson as of counsel and a member of the Firm's Tax Department and Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions Group.
Mr. Cohen joins the Firm's Birmingham office and represents clients in the areas of taxation and tax planning, wealth transfer planning, asset protection planning, business organizations, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. His business practice has involved tax planning for start-up entities and established businesses, executive compensation matters, tax-free reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and representation of clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities.
A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Mr. Cohen is a Certified Public Accountant and represents individual clients in personal and family tax and estate planning, the establishment of private foundations and family investment vehicles, and similar matters. He has been listed in Alabama Super Lawyers since 2010 and in Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Tax Law and Trusts and Estates since 2002 and is an Accredited Estate Planner. Mr. Cohen has served as president of the Birmingham Estate Planning Council and the Birmingham Tax Forum.
