Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and processes continue to actively and aggressively transform each phase of the design, construction, ownership, and facilities management landscape. In this 90-minute luncheon presentation, we will highlight and explore the various benefits and risk challenges that BIM/VDC poses to each stakeholder along a project’s complete life cycle.
Presentation and discussion topics with relevant case study examples will include:
- When and how do Owners properly define their BIM requirements on a project?
- How does an Architect qualify BIM expertise of Structural and MEP consultants?
- What are the rules for General Contractors using BIM for more than clash detection?
- How does the Specialty Subcontractor deal with BIM when it is thrust upon them?
- What contract provisions might the Construction Lawyer consider on a BIM project?
- How can BIM assist the Owner in long-term Facility Management (BIM–FM)?
