Among the legal community, there's been alarm at the recent push to oust three sitting members of the Tennessee Supreme Court. In this Nashville Business Journal article, Charles Grant argues there is nothing in the record of the three justices to warrant removal. He says there is more at stake than just the retention vote of the three justices.
"It would be truly unsettling for a lot of reasons if we find these jurists have been voted out of office with no reason tied to their qualifications," Mr. Grant said. "Some things are above partisanship, and having an independent Supreme Court is one of them."
