(New Orleans, LA/September 23, 2008) Roy C. Cheatwood, of the law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, has been appointed a member of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Section of Litigation Federal Practice Task Force.
The Federal Practice Task Force explores possible changes in federal law affecting federal trial practice and provides meaningful and timely input to the Section of Litigation on proposals generated by other entities relating to federal trial practice. Mr. Cheatwood will serve as a member of the Task Force for a term of one year.
Mr. Cheatwood is managing shareholder of the Firm's Louisiana offices. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, including contract, banking, corporate and securities, antitrust and unfair trade practices, trade secrets, oil and gas, energy and minerals, and legal malpractice. He represents local, national and international concerns in complex commercial matters before trial and appellate courts and regulatory authorities. Mr. Cheatwood has been recognized in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® (Copyright 2008 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken S.C.) in the area of Business Litigation since 1995.
