(Nashville, TN / February 26, 2013) Chris Sloan of Baker Donelson has been recognized as one of Nashville Business Journal's "Top 40 Under Forty," a list recognizing successful business and community leaders in the Nashville area.
Mr. Sloan, a shareholder in the Nashville office of Baker Donelson, is a corporate and intellectual property lawyer who represents entrepreneurs, start-ups and other emerging businesses, handling complex software and other IT transactions for both small and large companies alike. He routinely advises clients on intellectual property issues such as trademark selection and protection, copyright protection, nondisclosure agreements, trade secret protections and domain name disputes. Mr. Sloan is a frequent speaker and contributor to CLE seminars, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Nashville Technology Council events and other similar functions.
A 1999 graduate of the Vanderbilt University Law School, Mr. Sloan has been listed in Best Lawyers in America across various practice areas since 2005, and has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Mid-South Super Lawyers for the past two years. He is actively involved with the Nashville Technology Council, serving as chairman of the board of directors, and also serves on the advisory board of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. Mr. Sloan is a member of the Startup Tennessee Advisory Board, a mentor for JumpStart Foundry, and a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations.
