(New Orleans, LA / April 23, 2015) The law firm of Baker Donelson has named Mark W. Mercante Chair of the Firm's Construction Group. Danny Shaw, who previously served as co-chair and chair of the group for ten years, will maintain his construction law practice with the Firm.

Mr. Mercante concentrates his practice in construction law. He has experience representing owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in all aspects of construction. Mr. Mercante is also experienced in dispute resolution and handles matters involving state law lien claims and federal law Miller Act claims.
Since 2012, Mr. Mercante has been listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers as a leading construction lawyer in Louisiana. He has also been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2007 in Construction Law and in Louisiana Super Lawyers since 2012 in Construction Litigation. Mr. Mercante is a graduate of the Loyola University School of Law and is a member of the Steering Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on the Construction Industry, Division 3/Design, and of the ABA's Litigation Section and Forum on the Construction Industry.
