Now that the Office of Inspector General joins CMS in performing meaningful use post-payment audits, providers face an increased chance of audits to prove they met meaningful use attestation. In this Part B News article, Michaela Poizner warns that poor documentation on yes/no measures is a leading reason for failed audits.
"Think of this like middle school math: Showing your work is as important as the final answer," explained Ms. Poizner. "If you can't show documentation that you actually satisfied a particular measure, promising that you satisfied it won't mean much to an auditor."
