Baker Donelson and Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida (CLSMF), Central Florida's largest provider of free legal services to the poor, are teaming up to help veterans prepare wills and advance directives for free.
Veterans will be able to meet one-on-one with legal professionals to prepare wills and advanced directives. Most participants will be able to leave the clinic with fully executed documents.
Leading health providers such as the Mayo Clinic recommend that all adults, regardless of age, have advanced directives because unexpected emergencies can happen at any time. Advanced directives speak for you when you are unable to speak for yourself due to illness. Legal experts also agree that everyone should have a will. A will allows you to take responsibility for what happens to your property after your death instead of leaving it up to the state to decide.
