Chris Thorsen Receives Baker Donelson's Work-Life Warrior Award

Baker Donelson established the Work-Life Warrior Award to honor an attorney in the Firm who demonstrates an ongoing commitment to excellence in maintaining a healthy work-life balance or has advocated on behalf of work-life balance issues for the benefit of others.

Mr. Thorsen, a shareholder in the Firm's Nashville office, is a member of the Firm's Business Litigation Group and our 7^th annual recipient of this award.

Chair of Baker Donelson's Women's Initiative Christy Tosh Crider said, "Chris has a strong commitment to physical and mental health, and he led a personal and inspiring presentation during Mental Health Awareness month about his trauma journey. His story demonstrated his willingness and commitment to share his personal experience in the hope of helping others. It touched countless employees who expressed thanks for his bravery and for making them feel less alone. By definition, a warrior must have faced adversity, and Chris has. All the while, he is a steadfast example of prioritizing family. We were so pleased to host his wife, Anna, and his daughters Ava and Clara, for the presentation of Chris' award."

Mr. Thorsen represents businesses and individual directors and officers in bet-the-company litigation involving corporations, individuals, the SEC, the Department of Justice, FINRA and state securities law enforcement agencies across the country. He also represents and advises businesses in all manner of commercial disputes, including matters involving enforcement of contracts, fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and the many types of disputes that are unique to the particular industries in which his clients operate. Mr. Thorsen also litigates disputes over large trust and estate matters, including disputes involving fiduciaries, will contests, trust litigation and conservatorship actions. A Certified Fraud Examiner, he helps businesses assess and manage their fraud risks and performs fraud examinations and internal investigations for companies. Mr. Thorsen is a member of SIMFA Compliance & Legal Society and is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America^® in the areas of Commercial Litigation and Banking and Finance Law. He Chair’s the Firm’s Nashville recruiting committee and prioritizes recruiting diverse candidates. Further, he co-chairs the Women’s Initiative Committee on Recruiting and Retention.
