Christy Tosh Crider of Baker Donelson has been recognized by Corporate Counsel as one of its 2019 Women, Influence & Power in Law honorees.
The Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards honor top women lawyers who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law. The 2019 honorees were recognized during the Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards event on October 16 in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Crider was recognized in the Innovative Leadership category, which highlights women attorneys who are impacting change and developing new strategies for better solutions. As the chair of Baker Donelson's Women's Initiative since 2014, Ms. Crider has overseen the development and implementation of numerous key initiatives at the Firm, including an industry-leading parental leave policy, a firm-wide mentoring program for women, a program that awards business development grants to women attorneys, and a training program designed to help women attorneys achieve equity shareholder status.
Under Ms. Crider's leadership, Baker Donelson has earned numerous national recognitions as an exceptional workplace for women. The Firm was recently named by Women Inc. magazine to its "Top 100 Law Firms for Women" list. Baker Donelson also has been named by Working Mother to its annual "Best Law Firms for Women" list for three consecutive years, has been ranked on FORTUNE's list of the "100 Best Workplaces for Women®", and has been recognized nationally in diversity for women in Vault, Inc.'s "Best Law Firms for Diversity." The Firm was recognized by the Chambers Women in Law Awards: USA 2018 as a finalist in the category of Outstanding Firm in Advancing Gender Diversity and Inclusion. A shareholder located in Baker Donelson's Nashville office, Ms. Crider serves as chair of the Firm's Health Care Litigation Group. She also founded the Firm's Long Term Care Team and served as the leader for more than a decade. Ms. Crider concentrates her practice in health care litigation, managing the litigation of numerous health care facilities around the country, as well as serving as outside general counsel. Since 2008, she has been listed in Mid-South Super Lawyers and was listed among the top 50 female attorneys in the Mid-South, the top 50 attorneys in Nashville, and the top 100 attorneys in Tennessee in the publication's 2017 edition. She was named the 2019 Nashville Health Care Litigation "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers in America©. She has earned recognition as a "Women to Watch" by The Nashville Medical News and was also a recipient of the "Women of Influence Award" from the Nashville Business Journal. Since 2010, she has coached an all-girls high school Mock Trial team for Harpeth Hall High School.
