Join Baker Donelson Shareholder Tom Barnard for the upcoming 2nd Annual Current Issues in Government Investigations, presented by the District of Columbia and Maryland chapters, along with the Federal Litigation Section, of the Federal Bar Association.
The program will consist of three panels composed of leading attorneys and Jurists. The panel topics will include:
- Current trends in Public Integrity Investigations: Panelists discuss what is effective representation and what is not, as well as some of the collateral issues that make it different from other White Collar cases.
- Follow the Money: The "other" counts in the Indictment. Panelists discuss the challenges and trends surrounding the charges that seem to find their ways onto indictments, even when they are not the primary focus of the investigations. Money Laundering and Tax crimes trip up many would-be defendants, and issues regarding representation both before and during an investigation present unique challenges.
- Experiences & Insights: A Panel Discussion of Distinguished Jurists with Decades of Experience in the Government, in the Private Sector, and on the Bench. This keynote event will include the following panelists:
- Hon. John D. Bates, Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia
- Hon. Catherine C. Blake, Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland
- Hon. Royce C. Lamberth, Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia
- Hon. Kenneth W. Starr, Judge (Ret.), U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit
