Dena H. Sokolow has been named the managing shareholder of Baker Donelson's Tallahassee office.
While serving as office managing shareholder, Ms. Sokolow will maintain her legal practice, which is focused on counseling and defending employers and management on a wide range of labor and employment matters.
Ms. Sokolow's litigation experience includes arbitrations, class/collective actions, single and multiple plaintiff lawsuits, administrative proceedings involving employment discrimination and harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, state whistleblower claims and common law claims. With a practice spanning Florida, Georgia, Alabama and beyond, she has handled virtually every type of employment law issue and has clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. Before entering law school, Ms. Sokolow was an HR generalist at a staffing company, and during her legal career she owned and ran an HR consulting business.
Ms. Sokolow is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Law and has an LL.M. in employment law from Georgetown University Law Center. She has been recognized in the area of labor and employment law by Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Trend magazine and was named one of the "25 Women You Need to Know" by the Tallahassee Democrat. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Managers, the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the Alabama State Bar and the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association.
