The fate of the new DOL overtime regulation is in limbo. On November 22, 2016, a federal district court judge issued a preliminary nationwide injunction blocking (at least for now) the new overtime rules from going into effect. But the DOL is not done fighting. On December 1, 2016, the DOL appealed the district court's ruling. This case has left employers asking:
- What should we do now?
- Do we still need to comply with the law?
- Can we undo changes we have already made?
- What happens to the rule now?
