Jaron Herd has a successful track record in managing and coordinating projects submitted under FEMA's Public Assistance program. She was responsible for handling incoming appeals and/or requests for arbitration in accordance with statutory requirements while with GOHSEP and now brings her unique experience and perspective to continue to support public and private nonprofit entities impacted by disasters.
Jaron spent more than six years managing the appeals section of GOHSEP. She served as a primary liaison for the section, responding to inquiries from state, local, and private nonprofit stakeholders, FEMA, and members of Congress. Jaron worked to identify policy issues before they required adjudication by administrative appeal or arbitration, and provided training and actionable recommendations for operational changes, when appropriate.
Previously, Jaron served in roles at the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board and East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office. Jaron also has Public Trust security clearance from the Department of Homeland Security.
