Join Baker Donelson Shareholder Wendy Huff Ellard at the Tax, Finance & Accounting Conference for Cooperatives, presented by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in partnership with the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives (NSAC).
On Monday, August 6 from 3:40 – 4:30 p.m., Ms. Ellard will co-present a breakout session on "FEMA Procurement Requirements: What's New and What Do You Need to Do to Comply?" with Martha Duggan, director of regulatory issues with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. This session will review recent FEMA actions with regard to procurement requirements, including gifts and gratuities regulations, socio-economic contracting, and purchasing cooperatives. After attending the session, participants will be able to:
- Implement procurement processes necessary to follow when seeking FEMA reimbursement;
- Spot common emergency contracting pitfalls and identify solutions to mitigate reimbursement risks;
- Recommend policy on gifts and gratuities to comply with FEMA requirements; and
- Explain procedures to maximize reimbursement probability when purchasing from supply cooperatives.
