The recent 2017 hurricane season caused significant destruction in many areas of the country, causing states to reevaluate existing disaster preparedness requirements for facilities housing senior populations. This webinar examines recently proposed requirements for LTCs to ensure resident safety in the event of a major weather event. We look at the challenges confronting facilities during and after the storms, and the lessons learned from those experiences, including the hurdles identified by facilities and experts in the health care construction arena along with suggested solutions. We also review the status of the generator legislation in Florida and explore its impact on facilities.
