Sam Carey is an associate in the Firm's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the Advocacy Department.
Mr. Carey represents clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. His practice spans industries such as health care, hospitality, transportation, and food and beverage, with cases involving breach of contract, personal injury, creditors' rights, and other commercial disputes. Mr. Carey has negotiated settlements that avoided costly trials, prevailed on dispositive motions, and argued successfully in court.
Before joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Carey worked as an immigration paralegal at a leading international law firm. He also gained judicial and legislative experience through internships with the Honorable Thomas L. Parker of the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and with United States Representative Jim Cooper. During law school, he served as a student attorney with the Stanton Foundation First Amendment Clinic, representing clients in matters involving free speech and government transparency.
