According to media outlets, polls, and pundits, unions are cool again. Whether that is true, no doubt exists that a new generation of employees are pro-union and union organizing (and election victories) are on the rise. At the same time, the Biden administration's National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has prioritized a number of policy and rule changes that are directly relevant to nonunion employers, turning the tide in favor of employees.
Please join us for a discussion about recent developments at the NLRB and what employers – particularly nonunion employers – should be considering in light of the new "coolness" associated with unionization. We'll also cover the NLRB's recent focus on expanding the reach of federal labor law to nonunion employers, including the NLRB's Stericycle decision reversing an employer-friendly workplace policy standard.
