Skilled nursing facilities increasingly rely on Advance Practice Providers (APPs), such as Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, to facilitate effective and efficient care of residents. In addition to providing medical services, APPs serve facilities in several other key ways. They may provide quality assurance, training and related services benefitting facility resident care and compliance. They may also augment facility responses to compliance challenges, new models of care and opportunities to respond to an intensive operational environment with high expectations.
Whether APPs are employed directly by a facility or on a contractual basis, their services are subject to an overlapping set of interrelated federal and state survey and certification, licensing and reimbursement requirements. This webinar reviews key considerations and choices available in taking advantage of APP involvement.
