Gregory E. Bodin, managing shareholder of the Firm's Baton Rouge office, is an experienced commercial litigator who has taken more than thirty jury trials to verdict in 35 years of practice.

Lead coverage counsel for the largest workers' compensation insurer in the state, for cases pending throughout all districts of the Office of Workers' Compensation and Louisiana's state and federal courts, involving litigation and resolution of complex cases and claims and myriad issues including coverage disputes, duty to defend, coordination of coverage and benefits of multi-party and multi-state policies, Medicare Set Asides, and extra-contractual claims.

Lead trial and appellate counsel to validate an irrevocable trust based on another state's constructive trust laws and the trust provisions, despite irregularities with the signature pages in the trust document itself and relying instead on the subsequent donations and transfers to the trustee to confirm the trust's validity.

Professional Biography


Greg has handled a large variety of commercial litigation over his career, and he has coupled his trial experience with an approach to creative and sometimes complex settlements of cases to serve our clients with efficient and effective resolutions. Greg served for almost 20 years as an adjunct faculty member at the LSU Law School, where he taught Legal Negotiations & Professionalism, which allowed him to hone his skills in effective negotiations and resolutions of all types of cases. As a past president of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Greg maintains strong relationships with the local judiciary and a collegial reputation within the local legal community.

Greg has handled litigation and non-litigation matters involving: insurance disputes in multiple lines of coverages; defense of employer liability, workers' compensation, casualty, products liability, and occupational disease cases; fiduciary litigation involving trusts, successions, and interdiction proceedings; all forms of business-related litigation arising out of commercial disputes in state and federal courts; and bid protests, licensing disputes, and regulatory matters before various state agencies and tribunals. His practice has involved handling matters in every United States District Court in Louisiana and appearing in all five state appellate courts and the Supreme Court in Louisiana.

  • Seller's counsel for several asset purchase agreements for home health companies, including the negotiation of post-closing obligations after buyer's initial public offering as a publicly traded company.
