Baker Donelson opened its Houston office in 2011. Today the office has grown to more than 25 attorneys representing leading businesses in the Houston area and throughout the United States.

Mirroring the rich and varied economic base of the Houston area, the Houston office has strong practices serving the business community in the construction, energy, financial services, health care, manufacturing, professional services, real estate, technology and transportation sectors.

Our Houston team is highly regarded for its ability to respond quickly to and address catastrophic events – such as disputes arising from the BP oil spill and serious transport-related accidents.

Our Houston office has notable strength in a number of areas. Our advocacy practice represents clients in trial, litigation, appeal and arbitration across Texas and the United States, as well as internationally. Our health care team advises a full range of health care entities – both providers and insurers – regarding regulatory and transactional issues. Our transactional attorneys represent businesses of all sizes on all aspects of the business cycle – from formation to divestiture.

Ideal applicants should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in traditional labor law, with deep management-side labor experience, looking to build and grow a practice within a collaborative and entrepreneurial firm culture. Applicants must have a self-sustaining portable book of business and have a demonstrated track record of success representing employers. This is a unique opportunity to develop and lead the Firm’s traditional labor capabilities across industries and our geographic footprint. Aviation Corporate Associate - Any Office Location (#830)

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. is seeking a corporate associate with three to five years of transactional experience to join its nationally recognized aviation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of sophisticated transactions, including aircraft purchases and sales, leasing, financing, and ownership structuring. Our aviation attorneys are trusted advisors to a diverse group of clients and handle complex, high value matters that often cross jurisdictions. While experience in aviation law is preferred, we are also interested in candidates with a solid foundation in corporate, finance, or transactional work, particularly those with experience in asset-based lending, equipment leasing, structured finance, or similar areas, who have a genuine interest in developing an aviation-focused practice. We are committed to training and mentoring associates who are eager to learn this specialized area. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and business-minded, with strong drafting and analytical skills and a desire to build long-term client relationships. Litigation Associate – Houston (#833)

The Houston office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz seeks an associate with one to two years of complex litigation experience to become an integral part of our Advocacy Department. Academically distinguished applicants who have excellent written and oral advocacy skills, and analytical aptitude with deposition, discovery, motion practice, and trial experience are sought to assume responsibility in an active and diverse federal and state court litigation practice. We seek a bright, hardworking, and responsive attorney with good judgment and attention to detail. The associate will work closely with senior litigators who will provide active mentoring and client contact. Texas law license required.

The Houston office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. seeks a litigation attorney with four to six years of litigation experience, ideally tort litigation and insurance defense, for a non-shareholder track position. Academically distinguished applicants who have excellent written and oral advocacy skills, exceptional research and writing skills, and experience drafting and arguing motions; taking and defending depositions; evaluating, interviewing, and deposing experts; and running files autonomously are sought to assume responsibility in an active litigation practice. Trial experience in state and federal court is preferred. Texas law license required.

Bankruptcy Associate - Houston (#834)

The Houston office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz, P.C. seeks an associate with bankruptcy, workout, and/or relevant commercial litigation experience to join its Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy practice group. The position involves representing lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, and businesses in a variety of commercial loan restructuring and insolvency matters with default resolutions, collections, loan workouts, and bankruptcy-related matters in federal and state court. Knowledge of CMBS (including special servicing), commercial lending, real estate, maritime, and/or energy law are a plus. This is a terrific opportunity to gain sophisticated hands-on experience as part of a multi-office team of collaborative and goal-oriented professionals in a thriving commercial loan restructuring and workout practice with significant client contact.
