(New Orleans, LA / September 8, 2014) Baker Donelson announces the addition of Paula Estrada de Martin to the Firm's New Orleans office.
Dr. Estrada de Martin, who joins as an associate and a member of Baker Donelson's Intellectual Property group and Global Business team, focuses her practice on U.S. and foreign patent prosecution for life science, biotechnology and plant fields, patent interferences, patent portfolio management, patentability assessment, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, pre-suit investigation and litigation support for life science and plant matters.
A 2010 graduate of New York Law School, Dr. Estrada de Martin earned her Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Yale University in 2004. Dr. Estrada de Martin has served as a former adjunct faculty member at New York Law School, where she was the patent law mentor in the IP Jobtrack at the Institute for Information Law and Policy. She was also a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where she investigated the sorting and targeting of apical membrane proteins in RPE and MDCK cells in the laboratory of Dr. Enrique Rodriguez-Boulan.
A frequent author and speaker, Dr. Estrada de Martin's technical skills encompass genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology. She is a member of the New York and American Intellectual Property Law Associations as well as the National Hispanic Bar Association, the American Society for Cell Biology, and the New York Academy of Sciences.
