Alex Cranford advises employers in all areas of employment law, with a focus on workplace litigation. Specifically, he represents employers in disputes over restrictive covenants and the protection of confidential business information, including litigation to enforce and defend against non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and claims involving the misappropriation of trade secrets.
He regularly counsels clients on drafting enforceable restrictive covenants, pursuing emergency injunctive relief against departing employees and competitors, and navigating the growing patchwork of state and federal restrictions on non-compete agreements.
In addition to this practice, Alex maintains an active workplace litigation docket, defending employers in wrongful termination, retaliatory discharge, discrimination, and harassment claims, including matters brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Act, in both administrative proceedings and state and federal courts.
