Baker Donelson's office in Johnson City opened in 1984 with four attorneys serving the legal needs of businesses throughout the Tri-Cities region of northeast Tennessee – Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol. The office is currently home to about a dozen lawyers.

For more than 20 years, our team in Johnson City has been known for its strength in labor and employment law. Our team is also strong in commercial litigation, tort litigation and corporate transactions, including secured transactions. Our Johnson City office is also home to a thriving aviation transactions practice.

Situated 30 miles from Tennessee's borders with Virginia and North Carolina, 50 miles from Kentucky and 100 miles from South Carolina, the office is positioned to meet the legal needs of businesses in these states and has lawyers licensed in each of them.

Our Johnson City team is committed to giving back to the communities we serve through pro bono legal service. Lawyers in the office are active supporters of Legal Aid of East Tennessee.

Legal Research Analyst

The Legal Research Analyst provides firmwide legal, legislative, business, and company research support to attorneys, paralegals, and business services teams. The role delivers timely, actionable insights, supports client matters and strategic initiatives, evaluates research technologies, develops knowledge resources, and trains colleagues on research tools and best practices. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Analyst manages diverse research requests while delivering exceptional client service. This position is part of Baker Donelson's Client Solutions and Innovation Group and reports to the Director of Knowledge Management and Research.

Legal IT Project Coordinator

Billing Manager

Under general supervision and in accordance with Firm policies and procedures, the Billing Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting the Billing Team while overseeing all aspects of the firm's billing operations. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation, processing, and distribution of client invoices, serves as a key resource for resolving complex billing issues, and collaborates closely with attorneys and administrative departments to support efficient revenue cycle management. The Billing Manager monitors team workloads, promotes operational excellence, and fosters a high-performing, service-oriented billing function.

Real Estate Associate - Any Office Location (#854)

Attorney responsibilities may include negotiating purchase, sale and lease agreements, financing, development and JV arrangements, and other general corporate/real estate work. Health Law Litigation Attorney – Chattanooga, Johnson City, or Atlanta (#855)

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz, P.C. seeks to hire an attorney with two or more years of litigation experience, to join its health law litigation practice for a non-shareholder track position. While not required, experience in healthcare litigation is a plus. Applicants who have excellent analytical and writing skills, as well as discovery and motion practice experience, are sought to participate as part of a team of attorneys and paralegals defending hospitals, physicians, and healthcare providers in healthcare litigation matters. We will consider a partial remote work situation and flexible and/or reduced hours requirement. We seek a bright, hard working person with good judgment and attention to detail. The position is open to the firm’s Chattanooga, Johnson City, or Atlanta office locations. Georgia and Tennessee law license preferred.
