Kat Statman focuses on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout Texas and the nation. With proven courtroom experience, he handles high stakes business disputes for public companies and privately held entities across an array of industries, including the oil and gas sector, energy transition, maritime, environmental, construction, and financial services.
Kat routinely advises clients on commercial disputes, toxic torts, and products liability. He counsels clients on matters related to maritime claims and defenses, including maritime liens, the foreign sovereign immunity act, and other enforcement. Kat has experience responding to industrial incidents often involving workplace fatalities and environmental risk exposure. He defends regulatory claims involving industrial failure and clean-up, risk assessment, and water safety.
Kat is actively engaged in public service initiatives and projects. He supports the National Homelessness Law Center's youth project that involves research into state laws affecting homeless youth. Kat is an avid cyclist.
