Dr. Dietz concentrates his practice on U.S. patent prosecution for life science and biotechnology fields, patent portfolio management and patentability assessment.
Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Dr. Dietz was with the Office of Technology Management at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, where he focused on technology evaluation and marketing, patentability assessment and patent portfolio management.
Prior to joining LSU Health Sciences Center, Dr. Dietz completed a joint post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and the Center for Human Genetic Research at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he investigated the role of epigenetic modifications in Huntington's disease in the laboratory of Dr. James Gusella. He graduated from Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in Biology, and received a Ph.D. in Genetics from LSU Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Dietz's technical skills encompass genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology. The author and co-author of several publications, he has also presented both oral presentations and posters at scientific meetings and conferences.
