Lauren Burk focuses her practice on insurance coverage, representing domestic insurers in complex matters and catastrophic losses involving commercial general liability, professional liability, and excess liability policies.

Professional Biography


Lauren advises and counsels insurers in multiple areas, including drafting policy forms, insurance disputes, extra-contractual exposure, bad faith risks, and efficient claim resolution. She represents both insurance and business clients in state and federal courts in various stages of litigation. Lauren is deeply experienced in mediation and settlement negotiations and settles many cases short of trial.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Lauren served as an extern with U.S. District Court Judge Carl Barbier in the Eastern District of Louisiana, assisting with early cases in the Deepwater Horizon litigation. She has a long-standing interest in maritime law and continues to be involved with the Tulane Maritime Law Journal.
