With more than 30 years in the legal industry, Maria Ferro has spent the past decade developing and refining Baker Donelson's strategy to provide exceptional legal and policy services to clients from across the world.
As an integral member of the Firm's Cross-Border Business Team, Maria identifies opportunities to assist clients with cross-border opportunities by leveraging the vast experience of our attorneys and policy advisors as well as our relationships with local, national and international organizations. She nurtures relationships with laws firms around the world, including those in the Firm's international legal network, TerraLex, to provide clients with seamless service no matter where their needs arise. Maria has been involved in the implementation of trade missions with local partners, as well as in-country events and seminars. In the U.S., she works on business development initiatives through the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce's International Business Council; North Alabama International Trade Association; German American Chamber of Commerce; Alabama Germany Business Partnership; AmCham Germany; and AmCham Italy, among others.
Maria's passion for learning about the challenges in the global marketplace and her desire to present solutions are the driving forces behind the many educational initiatives that she has developed over the years. These initiatives include Baker Donelson's award-winning Cybercon, an annual cybersecurity conference that brought international and U.S. stakeholders together in Atlanta for five years; in-country legal seminars in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland; and a myriad of webinars about the business implications of everything from United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) to COVID-19 and changes to immigration laws.
