Rachel represents clients in multifaceted labor and employment, business, constitutional, and land use disputes, bringing to each matter the strategic insight, meticulous preparation, and creative problem-solving that complex matters demand. Licensed in both North Carolina and Tennessee, Rachel advises and advocates for clients across a broad spectrum of litigation and regulatory matters before state and federal courts, the North Carolina Business Court, administrative agencies, and quasi-judicial bodies.
In her labor and employment practice, Rachel represents employers in agency investigations and litigation arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and their state equivalents, as well as under OSHA and workers' compensation laws.
Rachel's significant experience in complex commercial litigation includes breach of contract claims, restrictive covenant and non-compete disputes, construction controversies, fraud and misrepresentation claims, and other high-stakes business disputes. She also represents clients in land use matters and zoning litigation.
Alongside her employment and commercial litigation practice, Rachel practices constitutional and political law, including First Amendment and election law matters.
Prior to joining private practice, Rachel completed a judicial internship in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph N. Callaway in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
