Riley Svikhart focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation matters.

Professional Biography


Riley Svikhart is an associate in Baker Donelson's New Orleans office and a member of the Commercial Litigation Group. He assists clients in commercial and business litigation matters in state and federal courts across the country. As part of Riley's litigation practice, he represents leading Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investors in Year 15 matters and other disputes with developers.

Before joining Baker Donelson, Riley clerked for Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and for Judge Martin L.C. Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. In a prior stint with a top Delaware firm, Riley represented directors and companies in cases involving a host of corporate issues, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder demands, fiduciary duties, and appraisal and inspection rights.

In law school, Riley was the executive editor of the Notre Dame Law Review. His legal commentary has been cited in courts, casebooks, and journals such as the Virginia Law Review, Duke Law Journal, and Boston College Law Review.
