EU Data Rules Go into Effect May 25, 2018.
Time is ticking! The European Union's impending General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) will go into effect May 25, 2018. Please join Alisa Chestler, CIPP/US and chair of Baker Donelson's Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity Team, along with Nicole Wolters Ruckert of Kennedy Van der Laan (Amsterdam), and United Kingdom based attorney Nicola Cain of Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (London) for our first session of a three-part webinar series.
Our series will provide a roadmap for businesses to prepare for GDPR and answer the following questions:
- Who Does This Affect? All companies that have personal information of EU citizens or that conduct business in the EU, regardless of their home country, must be in compliance with GDPR.
- Why Should You Care? GDPR mandates accountability and demonstration of compliance. Large monetary fines up to EUR 20 million or four percent of global revenues will be imposed on companies for noncompliance.
- Who Enforces GDPR Compliance? Member States in the EU.
