As a member of the Health Law Group, Tenia concentrates her practice on assisting health care organizations in a variety of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiation and drafting, corporate governance, and other corporate matters. She assists in all phases of transactions, from due diligence through closing. Her clients include a variety of entities in the health care industry, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, behavioral health facilities, physician-owned practices, donor hospitals, transplant centers, and organ procurement organizations (OPOs).
Tenia has experience counseling clients on incident response and compliance obligations imposed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), 42 CFR Part 2, and state privacy laws. She works on a variety of other compliance matters, including physician employment, fraud and abuse review, corporate practice of medicine, and health equity initiatives. In addition, she advises donor hospitals, transplant centers, and OPOs on federal and state regulatory and clinical compliance issues, the navigation of organ allocation and performance measurement standards, and the analysis and implications of proposed rules and regulatory developments.
